Where and when does the Band perform?
Free concerts are given in the Red Bluff River Park beginning at 8 PM until 9 PM, and 9:15 until
10 PM, every Monday night during the months of June, July and August.
Do you do public service concerts?
Yes, concerts are given for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
The Band also plays at Christmastime for the hospital and rest homes in the area.
Is the Band affiliated with other public service organizations?
The Band plays a concert for the annual Kelly-Griggs-House Museum’s Ice Cream Social in August,
and has supported the service clubs in Red Bluff and Tehama County.
Has the Band appeared at the California State Fair in Sacramento?
The Band has been invited to play at the California State Fair in September many times.
Does the Band support the younger members in their efforts to learn music?
The Band will be giving scholarships for deserving young Band musicians who are going to be studying music at colleges and universities. The Band will provide a music mentor for those who need it.
What is the outlook for the future of the Red Bluff Community Band?
In order to maintain our respected standing within the community, the Band is busy updating equipment, such as, music folders, uniforms, chairs, bandstand lights, and storage facilities.
We are looking forward to being in existence, as a service group, for a long time!
Is the Band just a money making organization?
No, this year, the Band will apply for and receive, Nonprofit status, due to its continued outstanding public service and distinguished community support. The Nonprofit status will help us maintain our standing as a strong, well-organized, public service group that we are today.
How many members are in the Red Bluff Community Band?
The number of musicians in the band will vary from 25, during the winter months, to over 65 in the months of June, July and August for the Concerts in the Park series.
What about those blue shirts the band wears?
The musicians in the band voted to get new uniform shirts for the 2007 season. The Band will wear them during the months of June, July and August and for any other Concerts and performances.
We participate in music because we enjoy being involved with the many aspects and benefits that music gives us. No matter what artistic level or age we are, we can all still enjoy music to the fullest, because music is a personal thing. Each of us can enjoy music in our own way.
